Confessions of an Outdoor Mom by Chasqui Mom

I confess! Being an outdoor mom isn’t as perfect as it is sometimes portrayed. Every parent wants to do the “correct and right” way of parenting but being an outdoor mom has taught me that we are all a “work in process” and that I have to go with my gut instinct, especially when I’m outdoors. I wasn’t too keen on “the outdoors” until later in life but my children have taught me to fully embrace the outdoors for my sanity! Being outdoors with my children has taught me to be prepared for anything as well as testing my patience to the max.

I’ve done things on the trail and off-the trail that have helped me survive motherhood and make it fun. From changing my shopping tendencies to trail “no no’s” to cultural differences, I do what I can to continue enjoying the outdoors which my family desperately loves. Confessions are good for the soul and I hope my confessions yet funny in nature motivate you to hit the great outdoors with your children.
