Before choosing to be a WAHM in 2010, she worked as a teacher (from preschool to university levels), marine ecology researcher and in marketing and legal firms. When Val breaks away from her keyboard, she enjoys traveling, gardening, cooking, camping, photography, tide pooling, road trips and sailing from home, an island in the Pacific Northwest.
