DIY Upholstered Bench

Mindi Carwin

Do you like free things? What a silly question, of course you do! Everyone loves to get things for free. What if I told you that I made a DIY Upholstered Bench that looks like it came from a high end store for free? It is true! With a little repurposing of some old pallets, a baby crib mattress, and some unused fabric I made a beautiful and rustic bench for my sister’s closet/laundry room. Not only does it look nice, but it also has a shelf for baskets and storage. Just the way I like it… cute and functional! And I haven’t even shared the best part. I will show you how I did it! So come and check it out, you won’t be sorry!

My name is Mindi and I LOVE creating things! Hence the name of my blog MyLove2Create. I am wife to a wonderful supportive husband who very patiently puts up with my obsession for collecting things for free or for super dirt cheap. You see, I collect free things like wood, furniture, and random things that seem useful. All of which I use to create, repurpose, and bring new life to. This way I can support my hobby by spending little to no money, and saving things from the landfills at the same time. It is amazing what you can do with the “trash” people throw out, I love making things new and beautiful again! Not only am I wife, but also a very busy mother. I have six amazing children, five boys and one girl, and I love them so much! They keep me on my toes and teach me way more than I teach them. I am a self taught DIYer and I share my projects to help inspire others, for I believe everyone has a desire to create in some form. I love writing tutorials so that in my own way I can teach others so they may join in and start creating!
