Apple Roses

Manuela Mazzocco

Yum

If you’ve seen pictures of those adorable Apple Roses making the rounds on Pinterest but felt too intimidated to give them a try, you’ll be amazed at how easy they are to make. Manuela of Cooking with Manuela shares her simple, straightforward recipe for preparing these delicious, diminutive desserts.

Manuela says: “There are many variations, all very similar. And all (or most!) very beautiful. So, the other day I got inspired, and looked up a bunch of recipes to try out these apple roses. There are several ways you can prepare them. You can make your own dough, or, like I did, use store bought frozen puff pastry. It’s much easier and a lot quicker!”

Manuela’s instructions include a step-by-step video that will convince you to make these tarts as soon as you can. While they’re simple enough to make on a weeknight, they’re impressive enough to serve at the end of a special meal. They’d be a welcome addition to your holiday dessert line-up this year; since they’re so easy to prepare and to serve, you’ll have much more time to relax and connect with family and friends.

These apple roses are simple enough to make on a weeknight, but they're impressive enough to serve at the end of a special meal.

Manuela Mazzocco was born and raised in Venice, Italy. She lives with my husband and two children in Pacific Palisades, California. She shares her passion for Italian food on her blog, Cooking with Manuela. As a mom of two young boys, most of her dinner preparations are done while checking math homework, looking for Lego pieces, quizzing for science tests, listening to violin practices, and playing tickle monster. Even with a busy life, she makes time to prepare a homemade dinner for her family because she sharing a home-cooked meal with loved ones is an Italian tradition that believes is very important. Many of the recipes she shares are simple and fast to prepare, with step-by-step pictures and directions.
