Natalia’s Choice: The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation
This can be a crazy, busy time of year and it’s so easy to get caught up in all of the celebrations. Guess what? This is a good thing! It’s good to truly enjoy the holidays! However, I also think it’s a great idea to think about others that are having a different holiday experience; those who have lost love ones, families going through difficult times, even those quietly struggling. It is a good time of year to focus and to be thoughtful of those around us.
For It Pays to Promote, I am really proud to be partnering with the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. When I was asked to pick a foundation to support I knew exactly where to go. I have a cousin who is 10 years old going through chemo and many different treatments as the result of a brain tumor. She’s ten, you guys – TEN. It’s tough to see anyone go through something like this, let alone a child.
When I reached out to her mom, I thought it would be helpful to know first-hand which organizations are really helping them. Get to the source. She suggested the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and right away I was on board. They have helped their family financially this year as it’s been hard for both her parents to work while caring for her. So many kids’ lives are affected by brain tumors and we don’t even hear about. Thankfully PBTF is reaching out to these families to help.
The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation is the world’s largest nonprofit funder of research into one of the deadliest forms of childhood cancer. Their programs also include free educational resources, college scholarships for brain tumor survivors and mission-focused events such as Ride for Kids and Starry Night. More than 28,000 children in the United States are living with the diagnosis of a brain tumor, and 13 more cases are identified each day. To help cure the kids, call 800-253-6530 or go to www.curethekids.org.
You can also read about my cousin Mariah’s story here. She’s a fighter for sure!
Please check out this awesome foundation that is truly helping people. I have seen it first hand! If you’re able to support, that would be amazing. If you’re not able to support financially, you can still support by sharing this worthy cause! It just takes a click to share via Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest or G+.
