Jessica’s Choice: Chrysalis

I grew up believing in second chances. Most of us have made a bad choice here or there and sometimes those choices have dire consequences. If we are lucky, we have family and friends to pick us up when we fall. Some people, however, don’t have those supports in place. It’s those people that the charity I have chosen to partner with seeks to support. I’m proud to join forces with Chrysalis this holiday season for the It Pays to Promote campaign here on BonBon Break.

Chrysalis is a nonprofit organization and social enterprise that provides homeless and low-income men and women with a second chance to rebuild their lives through employment. Offering a hand up rather than a handout, Chrysalis empowers clients through a unique combination of job preparation classes, one-on-one counseling and transitional jobs designed to remove barriers to employment. From resume preparation and practice interviews to work attire and transportation assistance, over 4,000 people each year receive the support and resources needed to regain their confidence and reenter the workforce.

Join us in supporting this important organization. Chrysalis has partnered with LA-based jewelry company, The Giving Keys, to provide transitional jobs for our clients.  Between now and the end of the year, all donations of $100 or more will receive a one-of-a-kind “HOPE” key necklace, engraved by a Chrysalis client who is employed by The Giving Keys.
