A Slice of Humble Pie for MommyWe mothers can take ourselves awful seriously.  Whether we’re the parents of toddlers or teens, we lay down the rules, and expect our children to follow them. Our list of enshrined shoulds and should NEVER EVERS make our to-do lists look tiny.  Every now and then, however, our kids surprise us — they open our eyes to the fact they have internalized our values, even as they go against our rules. This is a sweet account of how the author lost sight of encouraging her daughter’s dreams, and was served up a fat slice of humble pie.
