Hey Mama, YOU Matter
I participated in the Abundant Mama Project in exchange for a review because, as you will read, I needed it.
All opinions are entirely my own.
This past Spring, I got caught in a crazy cycle. Being a mom, an WAHM entrepreneur, a wife, a friend, a daughter and a homemaker left no time for being me. It wasn’t good. I felt overwhelmed, deficient, resentful, neglected and stressed.
Friends would say, “You need to make time for yourself!” and it made me want to punch a wall. No kidding! Really? Where? WHO is going to find this magic time slot?
Shawn Fink, the founder of The Abundant Mama Project, and I were chatting on Facebook and she asked me if I would be interested in trying out her course which builds on these four foundations:
Cultivating Gratitude
Nurture Your Mama Spirit
Learn to Trust & Let Go
Nourish Your Playful Side
Just reading the list brought tears to my eyes. Where WOULD I find the time? I knew in my heart, that I HAD to find the time because I really wanted these things. Just thinking about having a playful side again was impetus enough.
The women in the community shared their stories. I was apprehensive to share at first, but then it flowed…and they responded with warmth and support. THEY had been there. Reading their stories and watching them knock their obstacles down spurred me on. The knot in my chest started to loosen.
When I started the course, I felt like a raw piece of granite, edgy and hard. By the time I finished, I felt more like a polished art piece, soft to the touch and approachable.
Shawn’s guidance while working through each of the foundations was gentle, unrushed, welcoming and accepting of your present situations.
So, test yourself:
- Are you a mother looking for encouragement?
- Are you a happy mama?
- Do you need some gentle nudges to open your eyes, pay attention to the little details and focus on what matters?
- Are you enough?
- Do you want to create a more peaceful family life right now?
- Are you ready to become the mother you want to be?
- Are you ready to let go, lighten up and have more fun?
Share this with a mama who could use a lift.
