The Paper Lesson
Parenting is hard work and there is no manual. We need to teach our kids lessons that help them become better people, that help them grow to their potential. I have a life lesson that I taught my children that has had a major impact on their understanding of how words really do hurt. I taught them this lesson not with words, but with paper. They were young when I taught them, but old enough to understand. Now that they are older the lesson is just as relevant now as it was then. Sometimes it is not the words we speak to our kids, but the actions we show them.
