But you're exactly right! The past few weeks have been so silly because my 6 yr old great nephew lost a tooth a couple weeks ago. Well his elf tried to fight the tooth fairy for the tooth and was left strung up by dental floss. Not a week later, my 6 year lost the same tooth as his cousin and said he wondered if our elf was going to get tied up by the tooth fairy. Well, he was right! We woke up to Buddy covered in fairy dust, tied up with dental floss! 5 days later, I come home and my 11 year old greets m by saying, I guess Buddy is getting tied up again! When I asked why, he showed me his tooth. We wake up yesterday to Buddy tied up again, but this time holding the dollar the tooth fairy tried to leave. Can you believe, my 6 year old lost ANOTHER tooth last night!? So can you guess where Buddy was this morning? My 6 year old said, poor Buddy is never going to get to play again if we keep loosing all these teeth! Its just plain fun!

I have a 14 year old and an 11 year old and they just crack up at what our elf gets into. Does my 14 year old know the truth, sure…but does it spoil the fun? Nope. Memories, fun and keeping it simple.

We did have an elf that looked like that when I was kid, but he didn't "do" anything. What's the deal with not touching him?

Love the challenge of coming up with something new, and my daughter, and her friends love it too! 🙂

My 6 year old did not even notice or care. Maybe Santa is next to go…

And it's not all about the creative things he does. It's the spirit, and smiles, and fun memories he brings. My oldest is 14,and he has just as much fun as my 6 year old looking to see where buddy is today. There are a lot of questions they ask about him, because he brings a lot of mystery to our home. He brings joy and smiles year round, wondering when he will return, remembering all the silly places he hid last year, and guessing on the silly places he will be this year. I think people put too much into this and forget about the simple joy of imagination.

She knows him cause she saved Christmas a year back when he got stuck in da Bayou…. that way u dont have to worry about the elf and it promotes ur children to help out and do good 🙂

Last year ours zip lined on tinsel around our downstairs. I think that used up all of my creativity. All of it.
