I need my run. It clears my mind, and a lot of times I come up with my best ideas that way. And when I run with a friend, it’s much needed mom time too!

It is exactly the encouragement I needed. I am in a very similar situation. I did a marathon in 2007 and now 2 kids and a demanding job later I want to do a 10 mile race in May. It will be a challenge, but so worth it to cross the finish line. Btw, love the shoes – I have them as welll 🙂

Thanks so much Holly. The training for a marathon was intense. I’m hoping to do a half in the early summer or early fall. I haven’t looked for a race yet because I want to get consistent first.

I have made it a goal to run a marathon before I turn 40 (i have almost 10 years). I would actually love to run a 1/2 this year, but the scheduling part for training is what’s getting me caught up. For the majority of the year, I’m going to be a single mom while my wife is out on military training. So I’m not sure if this is going to be my year, as much as I want it to be. The guilt is also a big one. Training for races takes SO much time, but I agree that a healthy mom is a happy mom! I hope you continue to write about running!
