I’m trying to keep my ass away from the back of my knees. Can it really flatten that much after sitting at my desk for four hours! I hope the trainer kicks your ass, Kicks right up to your hips!

I actually mastered the art of online shopping years ago and hired a personal trainer last week to help me get my boobs off my naval and my ass off the floor. And even though I’ve only gotten as far as the fit test, I feel good. Real good. And nothing looks better in skimpy summer clothes than confidence. (Except maybe rock hard abs and a perky bum, but WHATEVER.)

Christine,

I’m glad that you got a chuckle. Oh, yeah, talk to me about being white. My boyfriend calls me Casper and although I know that some sun does hide the imperfections, I’m more about health, and don’t want the wrinkles in the long run. What about a spray on? If you feel healthy, then forget about what the scale says. You can definitely turn the sad and saggy into happy and lifted! If you want it, you can get it. Test yourself. I love playing games with myself to psych myself out. Hey, whatever it takes, right. Add some Pilates to your lunges and let me know.

Pamela,

Thanks for reading.

I don’t know a woman out there that hasn’t either struggled with their weight, or had some issue surrounding weight or body image. We need to get our priorities straight. It’s about health and feeling good. And yes, I know that what’s on the outside influences how we feel about ourselves but I’d like to see more balance. I told another reader to JUST MOVE. We are meant to move our bodies. And believe you me, if you find an activity, sport or class that you enjoy, those pounds will come off before you know it. Less calorie counting and more walking, Pilates and chasing your husband or boyfriend around the dining room table!!

Kenya,
I’m with ya. Sometimes, you just don’t want to do it… put on a bathing suit that is. Maybe you can take baby steps and wear the bathing suit, but keep your cover up on until you feel more comfortable. Depending on how I feel, I’ll keep a shirt on, or just the other day, I didn’t feel like putting on a bathing suit at all. I wore my maxi dress and felt confident. I could give a rats ass what anyone else thinks! This is your life- live it any which way that you choose. Now put on your bathing suit (jeans, and sweater) and take your child to the beach!!!

My boyfriend wants to come with me, but it’s so much pressure. Like you, I’d much prefer to have my meltdown in private and then, if I’m lucky, I can have a private fashion show at home! Thanks for reading.

Roxi,
I feel your pain. Not the birth part, the part about getting lazy. We’ve ALL been there, and I’m a Pilates instructor! It’s still an effort for me, even though I love working out and moving. Working with a partner, or a trainer, can help. Being accountable to someone else. It’s about setting ourselves up to succeed. The first step is ALWAYS the hardest but once you get that great feeling after a workout, it will hopefully get you to day 2. You have to find something that you enjoy or else you won’t work out. Running isn’t for everyone, just like Spinning isn’t. Don’t put pressure on yourself. JUST MOVE!

Hey Shannon,
That’s a healthy attitude. I wish that young girls would embrace this philosophy more. Whatever happened to, beauty being in the eyes of the beholder and beauty is only skin deep. It’s what inside that counts! I think we all need to needlepoint these on pillows. Thanks for reading.

We found ourselves at an underground lake on a tour — didn’t know that part was included. I wanted to swim so badly, but didn’t have a suit. Of course, the trinket shop nearby offered them for outrageous prices. I skipped the suit and decided to dive in fully clothed! It was absolutely wonderful. At 40, I finally let go of some inhibitions, jumped from a 15 foot cliff into an 85 foot deep pool of indigo and swam among the tree roots that hung down from the ground above. My life changed forever. I’ve not looked back since!

I needed this today, I am doing all I can do to lose the weight I want to lose, I try not to focus on what you see on the outside, but what I am on the inside. Thanks for this!
