Val, I am so glad I was able to write this piece!!!
When I started this project I would never thought it will receive so many positive reactions. I didn’t know that there is so many women out there having the same struggles; being a mother, a women in general in this modern world.
Thank you so much for having me here!

It is very sad that we all judge ourselves by how we look in a first place. If we see heavier person we think of her as a lazy, but we do not know what’s actually behind his/her weight…
Have you heard about the Wisconsin news anchor Jennifer Livingston? One guy send her an email saying that being so overweight she shouldn’t be on tv because she’s setting a bad example for young girls who watch her.
I say what about all those size 0 models on Victoria Secret commercials, or on any other commercial… Do they set a great example for girls. What about all those fake/photoshopped people in magazines. Are they a great model, because it seemed like for this guy they were ok.
I’ve struggle with my body image as long as I remember and these days I am angry not only at myself but at this world; the world that has created the picture of a perfect human so unperfect and so unnatural and so wrong!

I think you have a keen eye and your self-portraits are all beautiful. I love how natural and honest they are. There are so many media images of woman that perpetuate the whole concept of the ‘perfect’ woman. I am fairly sure that all of us who are mothers and even those that are not know that this perfect woman does not really exist and yet so often when we look in magazines, TV’s, movies etc it is the majority of images we see. Your project shows an honesty about life as a mother and a woman and in that honesty I see a truly beautiful woman… and I celebrate that!
