My 2.5 year old ate an apple yesterday in the living room and my husband didnt know he had been given apple a few hours before (so it wasn’t too old) and went into panic mode until I informed him it was same day apple. The funny thing is that this kid is an extremely picky eater at the table but will eat any nondescript crumb he digs out of his carseat…

Chocolate chip granola bar plucked from yesterday’s t-shirt. Check! Last year’s Easter egg. Check!
I still dive-bomb my 28-month-old any time I see him start to think about eating something mysterious. He’s my only child so I’m a little neurotic. But it’s good to know other children survive normal parenting.

Love it! It’s so true! I would add that Cheerios in the car seat are good for as long as the car seat lasts.

Stopping by from SITS.

Reminds me of an episode of Mythbusters when they tested the 5-second rule. (Seen on Saturday Sharefest.)

We call old french fries, “potato crunchies.” That is to say, that’s what my daughter called them immediately after consuming them. It took me awhile to figure out what she was talking about.

I *try* to limit myself to foodstuffs found on my shirt, instead of my pants. It doesn’t always work out.

Ha! If you really want a time-burner, give them a pair of chopsticks to eat the crushed crumbs with. That might get you through a transatlantic flight.

That would not only be the name of my punk band, it’s been a messy snack that’s kept my kids busy MORE than once. Oh, what a giant tip we have had to leave the wait staff! Good stuff.
