It encourages imaginative play, creativeness, and is a fun learning tool. By using an old bookshelf as the frame, you can build your own firehouse and customize each room. Create a couple peg doll firemen and your little one will have hours of fun sliding them down the fire pole, cooking in the kitchen, and fighting pretend fires! […]

We slipped up, once, allowing a whiny young character in… and when my daughter started getting whiny, well… I knew. I messed up on that one. He had to go!

Hello Leigh. You’re smart to view TV as exposure, because that’s exactly what it is. And like all other forms of exposure, there exists good and bad exposure (& much grey matter in between). Hopefully my 1st contribution to Bonbon Break can lend a hand in the tv/media arena.

Thanks for commenting & good luck!

And I’m glad you brought up the humor issue. So many of the shows on TV ARE laughing at the expense of others. It seems silly to some, but it’s a big deal to me that my kids are aware that’s not ok.

Thanks so much for sharing them! All 3 of my boys have grown up watching Blues Clues and we loved “inviting it into our family room” for many years. Blessings!
