Love Potion – Hands on Science

Brittany Morazan

Things that go fizz, change color or foam out of container are great starter science projects for even the youngest of children to enjoy. When the chemicals are from the kitchen cupboards, you know it is going to be safe for the kids to enjoy. This Valentine’s Day, get making Love Potions with the kids and watch the astonishment as a colorful liquid fizzes and froths as it is added to a some white glittery powder.

Kitchen science is hands-on chemistry for the very young. Use the same ideas to create a volcano for the science project years later as they enter school or adapt the chemistry and create fizzing bath bombs in a few years with all the glitter and sparkle of this love potion. Getting kids excited about science early on in life makes the high school years easier when the information gets heavy, and kids who don’t have the fun science background get turned off and find it a real challenge.
